JAMES DOBSON STANDS BY ENDORSEMENT OF DONALD TRUMP

“I do not condone nor defend Donald Trump’s terrible comments made 11 years ago,” the founder of Family Talk declared, according to WND. “They are indefensible and awful. I’m sure there are other misdeeds in his past, although as Jesus said, ‘Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.’”
Dobson, who has previously served as an adviser to presidents, is reportedly more intent on securing a better and more godly future for America than ruminating on Trump’s past and letting Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton take over the White House with a godless agenda while standing side-by-side with her sex-scandal-plagued husband.
“I am, however, more concerned about America’s future than Donald Trump’s past,” continued Dobson, who founded Focus on the Family back in 1977. “I wonder about how Bill Clinton’s language stands up in private.”
Shortly after the audiotape of Trump’s “locker room talk” triggered a media frenzy the weekend before the second debate, Dobson was pressed by reporters to see if his endorsement for Trump still stood.
“Dobson, who had endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, then moved his support to Trump when Cruz dropped out, explained that he’s been getting a lot of inquiries about whether he continues to support Trump – in light of the recording released over the weekend that caught Trump making lewd comments about women,” WND’s Bob Unruh reported.
Apples to oranges …
The evangelical leader stressed how comparing Trump to former President Bill Clinton – and his lies to cover up his sex scandals while in office – is like comparing apples to oranges.
“My condemnation of the former president is on an entirely different level,” Dobson impressed. “To my knowledge, Donald Trump has never abused women physically or had oral sex in the Oval Office with a vulnerable intern. Nor has he committed perjury by lying to Congress for many hours.”
Dobson emphasized that the businessman did not utter his crude remarks while serving as president, nor has he pressed for legislation that aims to kill innocent preborn babies – let alone give false testimony while under oath.
“[Bill] Clinton, on the other hand, lost his license to practice law for that criminal act,” the pro-family leader pointed out. “Trump hasn’t been impeached by Congress for his lies. Donald Trump hasn’t vetoed bills that would have outlawed the procedure known as partial-birth abortion.“
The committed pro-life activist also noted that the former president is much more than a moderate pro-abortion advocate, as the media has often played him out to be.
“Bill Clinton alone is responsible for the brains being sucked out of unanesthetized babies during delivery,” Dobson explained. “That naziesque procedure continued for years until the Supreme Court declared it illegal.”
Dobson went on to remind Americans that the media-targeted Republican presidential candidate stands boldly to protect the sanctity of human life, unlike both Hillary and Bill Clinton – who he considers abortion extremists.
“Donald Trump is pro-life,” the Colorado-based ministry leader stressed. “Clinton and his wife disrespect the Constitution of the United States, although Trump has promised to protect it – especially the First Amendment. Shall I go on?”
Beware of Hillary …
Besides backing Trump for his resolute stand for life, Dobson indicated in his early days of endorsing the 70-year-old Republican candidate that the thought of Clinton in office – and all of the ensuing destruction that would take place under her watch – has partially motivated his support for Trump.
“[My endorsement was partly due to] my great concern about Hillary Clinton,” Dobson said earlier in Trump’s presidential campaign, according to WND. “I am supporting Mr. Trump primarily because I believe he is the most capable candidate to lead the United States of America in this complicated hour.”
Among other reasons for Dobson’s support of Trump is his selection of a staunch pro-life advocate to be his running mate – Gov. Mike Pence (R-Ind.). The 70-year-old’s pledge to load the Supreme Court of the United States with pro-life justices reflecting the moral convictions of the late Justice Antonin Scalia was another contributor to Dobson’s resolve to stick with him.
“[I applaud] Trump’s commitments to appoint conservative Supreme Court justices, preserve religious liberty, rebuild the military and defend the sanctity of human life,’” Dobson expressed around the time of the Republican National Convention, according to WND.
Back in June, Dobson and former Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) joined Trump’s special faith advisory panel, which the White House hopeful said would advise him on how to deal with issues central to Americans’ faith.
Dobson, who also would like Trump to lead the fight for natural marriage and against same-sex “marriage,” expressed his belief this summer that the billionaire is truly a Christian.
“After a meeting between evangelicals and Trump, Dobson also said he believed Trump has come ‘to accept a relationship with Christ,’ repented of his sins and been ‘born-again,’ Unruh informed. “But he said Trump probably was not a mature Christian.”
Dobson conceded that he believes Trump is still a work in progress when it comes to his Christian walk.
“You got to cut him some slack,” Dobson insisted. “He didn’t grow up like we did.”
The trusted Christian voice also indicated that Trump would help to set up a movement that will let Christians be heard in America – instead of silenced.
“[If elected president, Trump would] unleash Christian activists to fight for their beliefs,” Dobson proclaimed in August, according to WND.
He went on to express his fears of what would happen if Trump’s rival comes out on top in November and exhorted Christians to hit the ballot box instead of sitting idly by to see another Clinton wreak havoc on the nation for eight more years.
“Hillary scares me to death,” told WND in a statement.
