“MY FIRST TIME IN CHURCH, EVER”
A Testimony by: Ashley, a new believer in her own English, from her Facebook page
“Those who know me can tell you ive never been a person who was a church goer. ive questioned god time and time again, and i mean, i always had my doubts about god being real or not. Today we went to church and I had a moment that ive never felt in my whole life, and when i say i never felt what i felt today i mean it. I felt something so strong and overcoming it touched my heart.
“For anyone who has doubts about god, just know he will talk to you when the time is right, and i cant wait until you experience what i got today.”
Pastor Phil Larson Adds:
“Watching people crawl up from hell in front of us and find relief for which they have no words – this is heaven.
There is a lot more to this story. Two adults and five kids. Both adults known in the streets for longtime drugs and alcohol. Even the struggling community avoids them. Both in the last week have experienced unpredicted touches of God during a workshop and a service. Both are out on Facebook telling all their friends. My phone has started ringing from other long-term drug addicts wanting to talk.
This is what we live for.
They have become unrecognizable by family and friends in their new condition. One mom messaged me how grateful she is. Ashley told me that all of this happened while we were praying the prayer of salvation. She could not hide the gospel inside her; she had to share it on Facebook (above) with every friend she knew and do it as fast as she could.
“These are not churched people in any way shape or form. This woman last week asked me how to come to church because she had never been. She thought she had to have a certain preparation or vocabulary. She doesn’t have any “Christian vocabulary.” She has a vocabulary alright, but not one Christian people might enjoy. For me it is pure blessedness.
“Every prayer you give to support. Every word you speak in encouragement. Every dime you assist. You have a memorial before God in heaven with Ashley and Jo-Jo and five kids written on it.”
